Below is a summary of the professional background and experience of the Crossland Team agents – Sylvia Crossland, Steve Crossland and Penny Fairchild.
Sylvia Crossland, Broker, REALTOR®, has been active in Austin real estate since 1988. She was raised in Austin TX, graduated from Travis High School, and is a Graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos – making her the 5th generation woman in her family to obtain a college degree!
Sylvia’s Great Grandmother, “Mama Penn”, built many of the vintage Austin homes that still stand today on land that was once the Penn family farm near 30th and West Ave. Austin Real Estate is in Sylvia’s blood!
Prior to entering Real Estate in Austin, Sylvia worked as an Interior Designer in San Antonio and Austin. She obtained her TX Real Estate license in 1988 and her Texas Brokers license in 1992. In 1993, along with husband Steve, Sylvia started Crossland Real Estate, a full service real estate company specializing in Property Management, Sales and Leasing. In 2005 they both joined Keller Williams Realty where they focused on residential sales and investments for 4 years before becoming independent with Crossland Real Estate again in 2009.
Steve Crossland, REALTOR®, MPM®, has lived in Austin TX since 1985 and has been active in real estate in Austin since 1990. He is a Graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Management Information Systems. Steve holds the MPM® (Master Property Manager) designation from the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) and was the 2004 President of the Austin Chapter of NARPM, and served on the Austin NARPM Chapter Board of Directors for 6 years. The MPM® designation is held by fewer than 150 Property Managers nationwide.
Steve currently serves on the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees for the Austin Board of Realtors, is a current member of the Property Management Committee for the Texas Association of Realtors, and sat three years on the Board of Trustees for a private Austin K-12 school. A former computer programmer and an avid real estate blogger, Steve has an attention to detail combined with an easy going nature that makes him easy to work with.
Steve and Sylvia both formerly served on the Agent Leadership Council (ALC) of Keller William’s flagship Southwest Market Center, and, as a top producing team helped run that office for two years before returning to their independent roots in 2009. Penny Fairchild, Realtor has been an Austin Realtor since 2005 and joined the Crossland Team in 2010. Prior to real estate Penny was a Personal Trainer and Fitness instructor for 14 years. She lives in Dripping Springs and is experienced in both resale and new/custom home sales.
As a long-time resident with exceptional knowledge of the many SW Austin and Dripping Springs neighborhoods and amenities, Penny offers valuable advice on the best choices for you and your family. She’s devoted to ensuring that you have all the tools, resources and information you need to make informed decisions. Penny has been married to her husband Bill for 18 years. She has 2 children, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Penny is also involved in several non-profit organizations in her local Dripping Springs community and schools, and current serves on the Scholarship Committee at the Austin Board of Realtors.
