Our Move to Keller Williams Realty in Austin

Greetings from Steve and Sylvia,

After owning and operating our independent real estate business and property management company (Crossland Real Estate) from January 1993 until we sold it turnkey in July 2004, Sylvia and I have decided to hang our hats at Keller Williams Realty.

We’ve joined the Southwest Market Center in Westlake, which is the first KW office that was formed and which is at this time the largest real estate office in the world with nearly 600 agents. Talk about going from one extreme to the other!

Why would independent minded business owners – who have already proven we know how to build and operate a successful real estate business – choose to affiliate with a large firm such as Keller Williams? Mainly because we do still in fact own our real estate business, but we are now partners, in a sense, with Keller Williams. Keller Williams, more than any other real estate company we know of, understands and supports the concept that agents are independent business owners.

As the newly minted “Crossland Team”, Sylvia and I will still be able to run our business independently, but under the umbrella of Keller Williams, and continue to deliver the personal service that our clients have come to expect. The only difference will be that we now have an army of agents behind us, and an infrastructure that supports our mission of providing exceptional service to real estate owners and buyers.

Mostly though, as any small business owner will tell you, it’s very hard to get away and have a true vacation when you own and operate an independent small business. By associating with KW, we have support staff, back-up agents and associates who can cover for us when we need a getaway. And it also doesn’t hurt to have the well-known KW brand name and marketing power behind us. This is a win-win for us.

This new BLOG coincides with the launching of our new website www.CrosslandTeam.com and we are excited about having a forum to keep friends and clients updated about the Austin real estate market and what Sylvia and I are doing.

See you soon.

Steve
