I disagree. Percentages are being used to camoflage hard numbers. As home values went up, realtors should've dropped their commissions to more ethical levels. $50k - $100k commission checks for single transactions are ludicrous.

No. If a buyer got blind sided at closing with a 9% (triple the expected amount) commission expense, that would be a comparable scenario.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't realtors make 6% commission on the sales of the home? I can stomach $3k in fees vs. the $30k in commissions that you would make off the sale of my home for providing what probably amounts to three hours of service. I appreciate where you're coming from but isn't the crow calling the kettle black here?

Margaret,

Marc Griffith, President of elenddirect, did contact me regarding this matter. I provided him with all the info, the loan number, etc. and am waiting for him to look into the matter and respond, but it's been about a month now. I'd be happy to post a followup with a happy ending should that occur.

You personal experience with elenddirect does not change the fact that they ripped off my client, charging grossly high fees. My hope is Mr. Griffith will provide a response that explains why and how elenddirect charged the fees outlined above and why my complaints about the high fees, on behalf of my client, were brushed aside.

I saw this article and had to respond. I was looking up eLend's website so that I could copy and paste the address in an e-mail to my friend as I am referring her to this great company. I just refinanced my home with eLendDirect.com and had the most amazing experience. I had called for a quote as well as informed the loan officer that I would be inquiring with other companies for competitive rates; the loan officer spent over an hour with me on the phone. Explaining everything to me in laymen’s terms and why the loan he was offering me was the best choice for my financial situation. He told me what I could expect when I received the loan documents to sign and everything was true and correct. He was available all times of the day when I would call with questions and even gave me his cell phone number to reach him if he was not in the office. ELendDirect.com is a great company and I have recommended them to all my friends and family. I am sorry your client had such a horrible experience but I can assure you that if they would have escalated their concerns to the CEO, Marc Griffith, that he would have done everything in his power to rectify the situation.

Don't forget us poorer folks. My HUD house is now valued at 100K. I have only owned it two years, but can not afford to keep it. After closing costs and the money I stuck into repairs, if I have to pay 6K to sell this house, I will take a huge lose.
