Real Estate prices continue the upward climb in Austin, though the number of homes sold is slowing somewhat. The number of homes sold is up 1% from March a year ago. The average sales price is up 4% and the Median sales price is up 6%. Below is the Year-to-Date stats excluding the new home sales. You’ll notice that the average and median sales prices are a bit lower, but the changes track about the same. I like to filter out the new homes when looking at appreciation because I think the new home sales can sometimes skew the number on the resale homes.
